North West Counties Boxer Welfare - Boxer rescue and re-homing charity
Registered Charity No. 1058229

Operated By Reputable Boxer Breeders And Exhibitors

North West Counties Boxer Welfare is a rescue and welfare service operated voluntarily by reputable boxer breeders, exhibitors and owners based throughout the North West of England. The service exists to assist and support those boxer dogs that have fallen on hard times and (mostly) need to find a new home. We see many reasons for our boxers needing to use the service from cruelty to owner's bereavement, and just about every other reason you can imagine in between.

Kennel Club Recognised Registered Charity

NWCBW is a registered charity and is recognised and listed by the Kennel Club as an independent boxer breed rescue service. Our operational area covers the entire North West of England, including the counties of Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Lancashire, Cumbria and (parts of) West Yorkshire. We are greatly assisted by, and work in conjunction with, members of our local Kennel Club boxer breed clubs, the Mancunian Boxer Club, the Merseyside Boxer Club and the West Lancs Boxer Training Club. In addition to the breed clubs, we have regular contact with the other boxer rescue and welfare organisations that complete the network of full coverage of the UK. We are a point of boxer breed contact for Dog Wardens, vets and other animal welfare and support services across our region.

Responsible Housing For Our Boxers

North West Counties Boxer Welfare do not operate our own kenneling facilities. Due to the vast area that we cover, we utilise commercial boarding kennels located at various geographical points across the North West. This gives us the convenience of being able to access 'local' kenneling across the region when necessary. Unless a case is urgent, we try to home a boxer from it's existing home directly to it's new home as this is less upsetting for the dog.

The Best Of Veterinary Care For Our Boxers

We retain one of the best veterinary practices in the UK to advise and to treat our boxers whilst in our care.  Rutland House Veterinary Hospital, St Helens, who we owe a debt of gratitude to for their excellent services and constant advice and support.

Good Training Makes Your Boxer A Good Citizen

We support and promote responsible dog ownership and encourage everyone to undertake at least basic training (or re-training!) of their boxer. We are able to supply details of various training classes, some of which specialise exclusively in boxers, and fully endorse the Kennel Club's Good Citizen Dog Scheme.

Boxer Welfare Exists By Charitable Donations

North West Counties Boxer Welfare exists entirely by the generous donations that we receive throughout the year. It is easy to recognise that the running costs of such an active service can be quite high in respect of telephone calls, fuel, kenneling expenses, vets fees (sometime for quite complex procedures), etc, etc. As a charity, we rely heavily on the donations (both in time and resources) from our helpers and supporters. Our main income is generated from donations from people who utilise our services, adopt our re-homed boxers and some fund raising events.

Take a look around our site for more detailed information on our work. If you require any further information about us, feel that we can assist you in some way, are able to offer some help with our service, need to re-home a boxer dog or that you may be able to offer one of our boxers a good and loving home, then give us a call - we'll be pleased to hear from you.
